The FAO’s Committee on Forestry (COFO) is marking this week (23rd June-27th June)as World Forest Week in Rome, Italy. Over 600 participants are in attendance to review the state of the world’s forests, examine forest policies, promote sustainable production and consumption of forest goods and services.
COFO is FAO’s highest forestry statutory authority and bring together heads of forest services and other senior government officials to identify emerging policy and technical issues, to seek solutions and to advise FAO and others on appropriate action.
